Gilbert Arenas' more peculiar quirks -- his insistence on wearing shoes that are a size-and-a-half too small; his penchant for playing online poker during halftime; the ritualistic tickling of teammate Antawn Jamison before every game -- have led his coach, Eddie Jordan, to coin a phrase under which to lump all those wonderful idiosyncrasies.
And now apparently we have a reason behind Arenas' sometimes bizarre behavior -- lack of oxygen to the brain.
Arenas has employed a company to thin the air in his Washington, D.C. home so as to simulate training at altitude.
And if that wasn't odd enough, Arenas will bring a portable tent on the road so that he doesn't get bogged down breathing the same heavy air as his competition.
"You know, that's kind of weird," Arenas himself admitted.
Yes it is, Gilbert. But on the plus side, if it wasn't, you wouldn't have found a home here at the Weird World of Sports.
