As a media event, the boxing ritual known as the weigh-in has always struck me as a little on the odd side.
Two grown men standing there in their underwear being weighed like they were at the doctor's office, usually trying to intimidate the hell out of each other at the same time -- something that isn't easy to do when you're in your skivvies.
But as it turns out, that's actually pretty normal when compared to the show Panamanian Celestino Caballero put on during Tuesday's weigh-in for his WBA super bantamweight title fight.
Apparently, Caballero was a little concerned about making weight for his scheduled showdown with champion Somsak Sithchatchawal of Thailand. So he stripped naked just prior to stepping onto the scale.
The move paid off, as Caballero safely made his weight and will get his shot at the title.
And it's a good thing too ... since he clearly needs a belt to keep his pants up.
