    So long, little buddy

There's some sad news today in our weird little corner of the sports world.

Nelson de la Rosa, the 2-foot-4 actor who gained notoriety as Pedro Martinez's good luck charm during the Boston Red Sox's improbable run to the 2004 World Series title, has died of unknown causes at the age of 38.

But if his agent has his way, the diminutive de la Rosa won't soon be forgotten.

According to an Associated Press story, the unnamed representative said de la Rosa's body could be put on display in a museum after an autopsy is completed.

We're just hoping and praying it isn't Cooperstown. That would be way too creepy.
