    Halloween Derby? Are you kidding....

Monday, October 30, 2006, 08:15 PM EST [General]

Not only is ESPN's MNF game a borefest, that was just the silliest thing I have ever seen.

Yes, Minnesota, you should boo, I mean it is Halloween-Eve.

That and your team is getting their collective A$$es whooped. Can the Vikes step it up and pull off the biggest comeback in the second half - comeback down to earth, you are good in the NFC, but the AFC is out of your league.

Is New England once again the best team in the AFC, possibly the NFL? Anyone got a comment on this?

Take Them Seriously:My Week 8 picks

Sunday, October 29, 2006, 01:54 AM EST [General]

I first of all take this time to remember Arnold "Red" Auerbach. An icon, a legend, gone at age 89. I don't usually try to predict the NFL games on here, but since I'm at work, and I get to work 13.5 hours tonight, thought I'd post my picks. San Francisco @ Chicago: This game looks like a blow-out on paper. And why shouldn't it? Both teams are coming off a bye though. I may have to give this one some thought. Nah. Chicago's at home which means if they score 10, they win. SF 7 CHI 30 Arizona @ Green Bay: For as bad as both teams have seemed, both teams aren't that bad. I mean as in Oakland Raider bad. Well, Since Oakland can brag about their win last week, I guess the Cards are that bad. I see Matt Leinart the California guy not having such a good day in the cold Great Lakes area, but I see a win. AZ 16 GB 14 Seattle @ Kansas City: No Hasselback, no Alexander? No Problem! Big Problem: you are at Arrowhead! SEA 17 KC 31 Tampa Bay @ New York Giants: This one wouldn't have been intriguing a few weeks ago, but both teams have stepped up and answered the call. Look for the Giants D to be too much for the passing or running game. TB 13 NYG 24 St. Louis @ San Diego: Wow, what a must win for both teams! What approach will St. Louis take offensively? I may have gone the other way had the Ram's had home field. STL 28 SD 38 Indianapolis @ Denver: Best game of the day? Possibly. Have the Colts returned on offense just in time to play against the leagues best defense? Have the Broncos enough fire power through the air (very thin air I should add) to keep it close should they fall behind? Which they will. Colts still find a way to torture Broncos. IND 24 DEN 20 Dallas @ Carolina: Romo's road test. I don't forsee it being a good one. What Panther's defense will show up? Panthers need this just as much as the Boys. DAL 16 CAR 23 Atlanta @ Cincinnatti: Simple for Falcons: just RUN baby. Bengals gotta find a way. Palmer/Johnson licking chops though: Throw baby Throw! ATL 35 CIN 38 Houston @ Tennessee: Houston impressed last week against Jags, can they do it again? I'm not putting money on it. Tennesse showing improvement. Houston narrowly misses chance to win back to back HOU 13 TEN 16 Baltimore @ New Orleans: Saints jazzy start takes a back pedal. Baltimore finds a way with whomever is throwing. BAL 17 NO 10 Jacksonville @ Philidelphia: Philly has bad taste in mouth. McNabb esp.after last weeks sideline gaffe. Jacksonville continues it's downward spiral. JAX 21 PHI 27 New York Jets @ Cleveland: Pennington finding stride. Cleveland just good enough to make it respectable. NYJ 20 CLE 16 Pittsburgh @ Oakland: Going out on a limb here, but Randy Moss will have big day. Pittsburg will continue to wonder how to win even when they play better than the other team. PIT 24 OAK 23 Monday Night New England @ Minnesota: Defining game for Minnesota? Defining loss for New England? Look for big plays from the Purple People Eaters NE 24 MIN 27 Well, there you go guys....good luck on your picks!

GAME 4: IS "SUPP" really PRONOUNCED "SOUP" and other thoughts:

Thursday, October 26, 2006, 10:09 PM EST [MLB]

JUST SITTING HERE WATCHING GAME 4:

1ST:  Suppan is rolling,  Casey just dug that one out of the dirt and over the wall, 1-0 Tigers. Nice running by Pudge against a clueless infield.

    2nd: Rolen is gooooooooooonne.....NO. Close.

3rd:  Tigers bats are ALIVE!  Granderson's got long legs, thought he was gonna trip himself..that'd be funny. Well not really. If Monroe gets on: warm the bullpen  OMG: that Suppan/Scooter clip was hilarious. Too bad my kids are in bed! This popcorn isn't bad either. Another 3-0 count, rut roh. Not as good as that chicken I bet! Casey up again; Casey delivers again. Pudge + hit = Bullpen.  I'm now convinced Carpenter is DA Man!

Side Note: there is more Kool - Aid consumed in St. Louis than in any other part of America:source Kool-Aid package.

No need for game summary Buck,  I'm here. Nice block Granderson. Guillen messed up; Bet Pudge got some words for him right now. Cards score this inning would be a big lift! Pudge sayin to Bonderman: Guillen messed up. Eckstein looks like he drank a gallon of Kool-Aid just now. Hold it in man, we saw McNabb's dinner last Sunday. Pudge to Bonderman and Guillen again: you messed up. PUJOLS WILL HIT SOMETHING HERE...CARDS MAY TAKE LEAD:POOHOLED!!!!

THAT PS3 COMMERCIAL THE SCARIEST COMMERCIAL EVER?CREEPY! (glad my kids are in bed!)

4th: Suppan's had to work kinda hard since the first two at bats. Well not really. What's the pitch count?

McGiver's still the man: good job MasterCard

ummm....Fox: Who is BRINGING SEXY BACK? again:CREEPY! Oh, I get it, get the Leading Lady!

OH THAT WAS CLOSE, NICE BASE RUNNING ROLEN! rolen rolen rolen...yeah he's that good right now. CARDS BATS ARE ALIVE NOW! This will be a good game: FINALLY! No, I didn't pay attention to anything LaRussa said Buck please refresh.

I'm not on the richlist :-(..., I make about 42,00 crispy chicken nuggets after taxes.

5th: Guillen's up: you messed up earlier. Did that foul ball just hit a Cards fan on the head? NO, I disagree, Suppan hasn't been all that good. Just as I say that Guillen lines into center. HMMMM???? The most dependable player in the post season, the way it's worded, that's a good question.  NOW the bullpen warms. Finally a pitch count :70, not that bad. Pitch to Casey? I guess NO. lol. Another hit by Casey. Will Suppan be back? I guess NO.

Who is the most dependable player in the post season? My vote : that is so easy, A-Rod!

Inge has a good arm. I don't know about those fast balls again with Pujols this time. Was that intentional or not? I don't think so, Bonderman is scaaarrreeed. Better get Edmonds here. U NO HOO is up next. 2 outs  and he almost took Edmonds head.

side note: can't wait to see how Verlander pitches tomorrow night.   Bonderman survives.

question: IS ANYONE WATCHING THE WORLD SERIES? LOTS OF COMMERCIALS FOR THAT DISNEY CLASSIC: cars?

yes Buck, good game. Were they just drying the field with Kliedsdales?

6th: Wrong again, Soup's back. He's throwing better. Inge up the middle. Where's the Greg Maddox D we got so used to seeing in the postseason? Good bunt Bonderman. No action in Cards bullpen????? Are you kidding? LOL...what I thought. Granderson is gonna bring Inge home, I just know it. Wrong again.

Jeremy Irons, John Malcovich, a dragon, a boy, ( correction a bada$$ dragon), eragon? Sounds too much like Aragorn. Rip off. I don't like the movie already.

Yes, government I would need help if my arms and legs just crumbled and fell off. Give me a tax write off? What's that steriod commercial got to do with baseball? Oh well.

rolen, rolen, rolen....is he the answer to the above? Tying run on 3rd...yes, good game, good game. molina, molina, molina....too hard to type and doesn't have the same feel...he will strike out. Yadi Yadi Yadi YOOOOO... I like that. ( I've been at work guys, give me a break!) Ok, I know nothing. Yadi walked on 4 pitches. CYA Bonderman ( I did tell you he was scared earlier).  Who was warming up?

Nice intro song to Rodney....yeah, yeah, yeah, ...or yeh? yeh? yeh? anyway...

The squeeze? Love to see it!  LOOOOONNNNGGGG Inning. Miles didn't have a chance against Rodney...95 and away mixed with the change up? Wow, that's good! Leyland may earn his money here.  FOX: BEER AND KIDS IN THE SAME FRAME? C'MON.  Rodriguez may be the most dependable player after all, I could be prophetic. nope wrong I am again.

Whew! REMEMBER THIS INNING...COULD COME BACK TO HAUNT THE CARDS! 1st and 3rd, one out. Still 3-2 Tigers.

Don't kiss him Bonderman, thank you. Pudge has a thing for baldies? Awww..how cute...I'm feelin the luv in that dugout.

7th: REMEMBER THIS CATCH! PRESTON WILSON! WOW! Sorry nice gem tho! Telephone in hand by LaRussa...Looper? WHO? I know nothing. Kinney's breaking ball isn't breaking. Wow, nice throw to 2nd! O M G  GUILLEN WAS  O - U - T! REMEMBER THAT PLAY! Why aren't they making a big deal about Guillen being out? Here comes Tyler.

NOTE to MYSELF: MOLINA is GOOD! When was the last time we had catchers this good in the World Series? One stolen base in the 4th game.

Casey: haha, nice split screen with Brunell. Casey, Casey, Casey. First pitch??? Patience.

Who was Hall of Famer Schoendienst? Oh, he was a bronze guy that resembled a baseball player.

Schoendienst: 48 yrs, 2nd baseman, excellent defensive player.

I told you granderson was gonna trip over his own legs! OMG: WHAT WAS THAT? Cards just tied on a tossing error by Rodney. Man that's tough. Could just imagine what he's feeling like inside.  McCarver stole my thought earlier: lethal that curve ball/fast ball combo.

    GREAT GAME!

What will this game come down to? Hopefully not a called 3 strike looking like the NLCS! Sorry Mets fans. ROLEN, ROLEN, ROLEN....(I liked the pumkin head)....2 on, 1 out...ROLEN, ROLEN, ROLEN.....nice! ...RODNEY, RODNEY, RODNEY.  This is the Tigers season, right here, right now, this inning! 2 out...Wilson up...Wilson ribies. 4-3 Cards.  Pujols snagged, whoops.

NOTE TO THERAPIST: POSTAL PACKAGES TALKING TO LAMPS, DESKS, etc. makes me feel insecure about myself.  PLEASE INTERPRET

8th: I kinda thought with Taguchi's speed he was gonna be safe no matter if they threw to home or not. Quit trying to make Pujols look good,  McCarver, you and Buck disappoint.

Pudge hits again, Leading Lady on 2ND!...Pudge just brought sexy back.  Pudge to third, 1 out...Inge will come up big here, I feel this one.  Wainwright in....GAME OVER?

ahhh, Gibson....nice tie in Bank of America

I don't know what gusto! gusto! gusto! is

INGE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>TIE GAME, TIE GAME, TIE GAME!

I love this game! (wait that's NBA) What's the MLB love theme? I love juice? You gotta love juice? What is it? Nevermind.

This isn't the same Wainwright I remember: there he is 1-2, 2 out. I don't understand that...If the catcher stands up and wants it up there, won't the hitter kinda know he's standing? Anyway, great game...have I said that? Nice pitch. Will Rodney be back? Nah.

NOTE TO SELF: Don't se De Ja Vu

Zamaya! 100mph...Fox up to trix again? I wouldn't pinch run for Molina, are you outta yo mind? Not an option. Zamaya is struggling for lack of better words. 6 pitches, 6 balls. STRIKE 1. Guillen to Zamaya: I messed up, oh and throw a freakin' strike! The grass must be really slow! That should have been a double play. Wow, it's 11:52pm.

QUESTION OF THE NIGHT: WILL GRANDERSON TRIP OVER HIS OWN FEET AGAIN? hmmm...that looked like a strike...guess not. Big Hit Eckstein still alive. Just off the glove....ouch. That hurt me.  yes, WOW Buck. Why would it fool Monroe? I understand the infield being in, must have had a late break on the ball. Oh well, 5-4 Cards.

Safe to say Tigers season rests on this next inning now, lol. Who cares if they won only 51 games or  whatever, these Cards have hitters, pitchers, and defense, what more does a World Series Champion need?

9th: cya Monroe, Guillen heres your chance to make up:STRIKE ONE, STRIKE TWO, (CARDS FANS GOING WILD, I NEED A RALLY TOWEL), BALL ONE, BALL TWO, HIT TO PUJOLS...2 OUTS.

PLEASE: NOT ANOTHER 3 PITCH STRIKE OUT LOOKING FOR SUCH A DARN GOOD GAME!

    ORDONEZ: GONE.

    CARDS WIN, 5-4

CARDS UP 3-1, WORLD SERIES OVER...BUMMER. THERE'S ALWAYS GAME 5.

If you read this, hope you enjoy, doesn't do the game justice.
