Does Tiger Woods do enough for social change? Jim Brown doesn't think so.

Thursday, July 2, 2009, 07:57 AM EST [General]

Tiger Woods, argueably the greatest golfer in the world to ever live, has a foundation that has helped millions of children as of today, but is that enough.  Does he have an obligation to speak out against the many injustices in the world today.  Jim Brown believes he does.  What do you think?

Make it or Break it Years for Jeremy Shockey and Reggie Bush

Saturday, June 13, 2009, 06:28 PM EST [General]

As I sit in this Trailer listening to R.Kelly and staring at the clock, counting down the minutes until I get off my part time security job,by the way I have 194 minutes left before Im relieved of my duties.Im reading some NFL news, and it occured to me some players who were supposed to change the game as far as we viewed there positions, have fizzled or have been held back do to injuries.Jeremy Shockey came into the league, from the U hungry and made a impact right away and due to injuries and other nonsense wore out his welcome with the Giants,it was to the point where they couldn't stand to be around him and vice versa. He went to New Orleans, and injuries once again have slowed him down but there is also something else missing from his game,he isn't the same player as when he first entered the league,I know he's older but if he doesn't rebound this year he might find himself released or he might have to take a large pay cut.Once again, the tatoos are nice, the quotes are funny, the free spirit thing cool, but it boils down to what are you doing for me now. Some players become old real fast.He was replaced by Kevin Boss in New York who wasn't a household name coming out of college,so Shawn Payton won't hesitate to sit him or cut him,if he isn't productive,Shock, hasn't done much in the last 2 years besides collect his pay and stay hurt, and do and say stupid stuff.Reggie Bush, great all purpose talent, but he will never live up to his college hype.He is another player who can't stay healthy, and is a liability on 3rd and inches, for all his versatility,I believe the Saints want to see more rushing yardage this year out of him.The punt returns are nice, the swing passes out the back field are cute, the hot chick good tabloid reading, but he makes a lot of money and he's played no where up to his contract. For him to not have to take a pay cut he's going have rush for at least 850 yards, play 16 games along with all the other stuff he does.He isn't a 1200 rushing back in the league, but he does so many things well its hard to say he's a bust but this is year 4,and the Public and Saints want more from him. With more teams using 2 backs you would think this would help him stay healthy and productive, but it hasn't.Save your money Shock and Bush this may be your last year of winning the lottery

    Where's the Love for Kareem

Monday, June 1, 2009, 06:21 PM EST [General]

As I watch the NBA playoffs, I listen to everyone gloat over LBJ and Kobe ,and rightfully so,but this mess about whose the better closer, the media needs to give me a break. We know about Jordan already, but there is a center who played 20 years in the league who led the league in scoring countless times, who was automatic in paint on offense, who averaged at least 25 a game for lets say a dozen years, and played good defense,by the way he has 6 NBA titles too.His name is Kareem Abdul Jabbar who is treated by Basketball Critics like he's Greg Kite. All Jabbar did is go to work everyday for 20 years and dominate you for 19 of them.He won numerous games for the Lakers with his Sky hook and timely foul shooting. Why is this man treated like Granville Waiters, maybe because Kareem wasn't a good quote ,or wasn't flashy but there's only a 1 other player in the history of the game who dominated you every night for 19 years ,the other is Karl Malone.Karl was great but he's not in the same building as Kareem Abdul Jabbar, for those who haven't had the luxury to see him play,Kareem was like a video game ,he scored at will ,had freakish stamina ,but he is never mentioned as one of the greatest players,of all time, now we have Kobe and Lebron, and its like Kareem never existed,as far as closer Kareem has 6 championship rings and was a dominating force for 19 years which is unheard of today. Can we stop treating Jabbar like Joe Barry Carrol, and mention him in some of these basketball discussions, when were talking about greatness on the hard court. For those real yungans look up his stats, and you will see what I am talking about.

Blame The Coach,Tim Floyd and the NCAA

Wednesday, May 13, 2009, 05:17 PM EST [General]

Everyone gets its but the Ncaa. The top players are going to get paid one way or the other. He's been a pro player since the 11th grade.Do you really tnink he's going to walk around broke, while the University makes millions no that's not going to happen. The NCAA has to join the 21st century Division 1 college athletics is no longer amateur, its a large professional league.Tim Floyd and most of everyone else new what was going on.To sign Mayo you have to spend money, now Tim is wrong, and broke the rules, but all the top players get a little something extra, sneakers, warm ups, dinners, money from AAU coaches. The top players in college should get a stipend so they can buy the basics, and some new clothes from time to time. This is my opinion but its a new day in big time college sports. In the future especially in basketball the top talent will head over seas or go to the highest bidder or sit out a year and then apply for the NBA draft. The NCAA should put themselves on probation, for living in the 20th century

    Im Just Asking

Monday, May 11, 2009, 08:33 AM EST [General]

The 2009 Nba draft is rapidly approaching and the obvious choice is Blake Griffin, and after that do you go big or small,do you take the guard from Spain Rick Rubio or do yo go big and take Hasheem Thabeet from UCon.There are going to be a lot of guards drafted in the first round, due to the games focus on the guards, being able to run the team able to score. I personally wouldn't take a guard over a big man unless were talking about a big Guard like Magic Johnson who could play more than one position and do it all.Just asking do you go big or small if you have the second pick in the draft
