    Premature Celebration?

Thursday, April 17, 2008, 03:48 PM EST [MLB]

Last night, with Felix Hernandez walking off the field after a complete game K fest against the A's, Mariner's fans were treated to what we thought this season was going to be all about: complete domination by our pitchers. But I'm not buying in just yet.

Remember last year's early run by King Felix? The one-hitter against Boston? Yea...then what happend? He got hurt. He's shown periods of awesome, with flashes of "Oh God!" through out his short major league career.

With Erik Bedard, the M's suppoused ace aquired this offseason, and J.J. Putz already on the shelf, the bullpen looking just laughable, and an offense that is clicking now but has been known to just, well, um, die, this year may be another long one. Do they have a shot to win the West? Hells yes! But they need to get after it now while the Angels are still out two AMAZING pitchers. They need to get their bats going, their pen together in such a way that the Nationals aren't looking at them and laughing, and they need their starters to be beasts, not whiney babies[I'm looking at you, Erik]. Hey...I hear Barry Bonds is still looking for a job...wonder how he'd like our waterfront?
