For the first time since November 2005, there will be a Thornton in the lineup of the Boston Bruins.
Unfortunately, it won't be former Bruin Joe Thornton, who re-signed with the San Jose Sharks on Sunday, but rather former Anaheim Ducks forward Shawn Thornton, who signed a multi-year contract with the Bruins.
Thornton played in 48 regular season and 15 playoff games with the Ducks in 2006-07.
Don't expect this Thornton to post up the kind of numbers than Joe did in Boston. He's more of a checking line/enforcer type of player.
