    Beauty and Tony Romo's Beast

Monday, January 14, 2008, 11:59 AM EST [NFL]

I knew Tony Romo would get the blame here.  Now Cowboy fans and haters will pile on him and his romance till they kill it!  Ah, the poor kids.  They don't deserve it.

It wasn't the airplanes that killed the beast.  T'was beauty that killed the beast.

You know, you folks should lay off or hope the romance doesn't become stronger because of your criticism.

Romo got mugged in the 2nd half and if you want to blame somebody for the loss, blame the O-line or the coordinator.

Still, Romo has a playoff gorilla on his back.  If and when he gets it off, how sweet it will be!  Ask Peyton Manning.

Cowboy Fans biggest worry is still the Terrell Owens beast.  You can blame Jerry Jones for that time bomb.

    Lakers Fans and Mojo

Monday, January 14, 2008, 11:36 AM EST [Los Angeles Lakers]

Laker fans are down in the dumps now cause their suddenly phenom young center, Andrew Bynum may be out with an injury for some time, derailing the season.  Laker fans can cling to hope that they still have Phil Jackson.  If anybody can rally the troops ...  They can also hope that K-Brown finds some new game in his game.  It happened to Bynum, why not Kwame?

Seriously, the only thing the Lakers had was new hope  in Bynum.  Were they ever really contenders?  Were they elevated to pretenders?

Bynum's injury was inevitable.  He could not keep up with this new found zeal for the game of basketball.  He was a victim of his own mojo.

    Religion in Sports

Thursday, December 27, 2007, 09:15 PM EST [Detroit Lions]

Recently watching an episonde of "Behind the Lines,"  and all these athletes who pray to God on the sports field, I was struck by the image of Quarterback John Kitna as he was explaining himself.  He seemed to be one of those people who suddenly lose it and go on a murderous spree killing 50 people?  The man had wild eyes like Charles Manson.

I would feel uneasy playing with Kitna.  I would feel uneasy having him as my leader on the field.  The guy comes accross as a wacko.  Most religious fanatics do come across as maniacs.

God cares as much about a football game as Britney Spears cares about her kids.

These atheletes who profess their spirituality on the field are just trying to create an image.  They are successful of creating an image of a fanatical idiot.

    Curt Schilling Has Valid Point

Friday, December 21, 2007, 11:40 AM EST [Curt Schilling]

Several sportscasters have chimed in on comments of Curt Schilling and most of them come to bury him.  I come to praise him.  Schilling has valid points and should be heard regardless of  his verbosity.

Let us take a look at Marion Jones.  Lady MJ offered to return her medals.  She did and someday her career will be rehabilitated to some degree.  Still, not only does the Olympic folks strip cheaters of their medals and records, they also want the medals back from teammates in events such as the relays.

Cycling and the Tour De France  stripped Floyd Landis.  And, they certainly wanted to do the same for our man Lance.

College football wants to strip Reggie Bush of his Heisman and take away the National Championship of USC in which he was a major factor.  It's not like they haven't done it before ... How is this situation different from MLB and Clemens?  It may have been Reggie's parents who cheated.  Still, it is he and USC who will suffer ... not to mention his teammates.

So then, to suggest that Clemens be stripped of his many awards is not without merit.  Or, is MLB somehow better than the Olympics and other sports?

An LA Times article compares Clemens to Pete Rose, saying that "we didn't take anything away " from him when he was banned.  So how can we consider taking awards and records away from the Rocket?  Well the comparison is faulty.  Peter Rose broke MLB rules as a manager not as a player.  I am one who believes Charlie Hustle should have been let in the hall as a player.  But, in his case there is just too much dark water under the bridge now.

Clemens is every bit the steroid monster that Barry Bonds is and neither one of them deserves to be in the hall or to keep their records after using the juice.  Many sportswriters have already said they will not vote Clemens into the hall unless he brings something substantial to the table in response to the Mitchell Report.

Now, if his steroid use keeps him out of the hall of fame, how or why does he get to keep his Cy Young Awards after the fact?  Does MLB know something the Olympics does not?

Is Terrell Owens Worth It? NO WAY

Thursday, December 20, 2007, 03:44 PM EST [Terrell Owens]

Is Owen's talent worth his big stupid mouth? I don't think so. A team with Owens will be a team divided.

Look at his statements about Parcells and Keyshawn. A big mature man would have just said no comment and not gotten into a little tit for tat with Keyshawn. A small idiotic man who is all about himself cannot resist to put his foot in his mouth when given the chance to do so.

His comments about Romo's personal life are just off the wall no matter how you look at it. He says he was joking, but why say anything at all? Jessica Simpson dating Romo or sitting in the sky box is just none of his business ... joking or serious.

If I'm Romo, I'm taking that idiot aside and telling him what's what. And, everybody on the team should have his back.

If they ever start losing in Dallas ... look for the idiot to go off again. He's just not worth it and Jerry Jones made a bad deal. Parcells knew exactly what he was doing by not referring to TO by name. It was a good psyche move and TO should have gotten the message. Oh wait, he's an idiot and idiots don't have a clue!
