    Rockets End Kobe 4 MVP

Sunday, March 16, 2008, 04:13 PM EST [General]

OK, can we finally end the talk of Kobe Bryant for MVP?  If the Hornets didn't do it with their double-digit victory over the Lakers on Friday night, the Rockets surely ended it today in Houston with another double-digit win over the Lakers.

Boo hoo .... Where was Kobe?  Where was another 81 points from the boy genius?  Where was the MVP candidate taking his team on his back and leading them to victory?  What?  Laker fans got no answer... got nothing to say  ... of course not.  Laker fans get your hero to put up 81 against a decent team when they need it and we can talk.

Better hope the Lakers don't meet Houston in the playoffs.  Shane Battier got an answer for the Kobe riddle and it's called in yo face defense.  By the way, who did the god of basketball pass up when he drafted that Kwame  fiasco?  Why it was Battier.

Pau Gasol must be the MVP for the Lakers.  They are now 0-2 without him.

Miami Dolphins Seal Their Fate ... Best & Worst

Sunday, December 2, 2007, 10:22 PM EST [General]

I think it is only fittling that the Dolphins become the only NFL franchise in history with 16 straight losses capping a winless season.  Who better to wear the crown than the team that set the standard in having  the best NFL season ever going 16-0.

It is perfect karma.  It is quite symetric.

Now, if only the Patriots will cooperate and lose a game!  I think I will write some encouraging words for the Steelors.

Anyway, the Dolphins had their best chance to win today and got waxed by the mighty Jets!  Looking at the rest of their schedule makes the honest Dolphins fan cry.  It's not happening.

Don't be ashamed Dolphins fans.  Be proud of your 2 records.  Don't go in denial.  Embrace your great place in sports history!   It's coming.  The next record ... it's on the way.

    So Cal Fans Nightmare Weekend

Sunday, October 7, 2007, 10:29 PM EST [General]

SoCal Sports Fans wallow in the worst weekend ever for professional sports.  Hard liquor, please ... and keep it coming.  Something like this should happen in the month for Halloween.  It is a nightmare ...

It started with sorrowful tears from hometown sweety, Marion Jones, telling us thru tears that she had "betrayed" her country.  Am I alone in wanting to believe her during her years of denials?  Is it just me?  She had to be dirty from all the dirt around her.  Her confession just wasn't as shocking as it should have been.  Still, why did I want to believe her?

The Trojans were playing progressively worse (Booty) for 3 games and a cocky new coach at Stanford really knocked 'em down a couple of pegs.  Definitely  should be out of top 15.  We don't feel so special anymore here in Hollywood.

UCLA and Dorrell have a knack for losing to just about anybody during his tenure.  Still, the loss to Notre Dame, the worst team in college football, is shocking ... shocking I say!  How can I tell anybody I live in LA?  I think this loss is more shocking than the victory of over USC last year.  What?

The Los Angeles Angels?  What?  We would not feel such shame here if not for this commercialized behemoth of a team that seeks to use the name of our fine city like any common carpetbagger and then get swept by the BoSox in the playoffs like so much dirt on home plate.  This is an embarrassment and an infliction of injury requiring tort!  Let's unite and sue the bastards!!!

The absolute worst news is that the Lakers opened up training camp.

    Thoughts on Belichick says he

Wednesday, September 19, 2007, 10:43 AM EST [General]

A response to Belichick says he

When did Goodell ask for the tapes? Was it after the Free World complained about his double-standard punishiment of Coach B? Is this Goodell getting the message sent by everyone who is not a Patriot fan? We just know this was not the first time ... we just know it ... don't we?

Goodell really was looking like a White Knight for a while.  Striding through the NFL like Wyatt Earp with hard lines and harsh punishment.  Then he went "Old Boy" on us with his lite slap of a punishment on Belichick and the Partriot franchise.  It was as if  Garry Cooper morphed into Richard Nixon.

Now, with the continued investigation of Belichick history, whether it was planned before or after fan and media outrage of the lite punishment, may reestablish Goodell as our Hero.

    No Class Serena Williams?

Wednesday, September 5, 2007, 10:01 PM EST [General]

Aaaahhh, the lovely Serena is at it again.  She is called classless, clueless, and graceless for her latest interview following an important loss.  Though this is reported as it is suppose to be something new, it is not.

I hope this is why the women are being paid the same as men I believe in this particular tournament.  That is to say, the women are and have been for quite some time more interesting than the men in professional tennis.  As an individual sport, tennis players are like boxers and we always like it when they have personality-good, bad, whatever.  They need to promote themselves in some respect.

Women in professional tennis are many times Divas and it comes out in interviews and sometimes on the court.  I remember words and actions by Martina Hingis that endear her to me as one of great champions and drama queens of tennis.

The William Sisters are great champions and Divas as well.  I do not fault them for it.  Though Serena may be a little more extreme than big sister, I'd rather hear her wild interview than some dull lump on a log.
