The last time I posted on worst QBs in the NFL, the most prominent names were Vince Young, Matt Lienart, Tavaris Jackson, and everybody's favorite Bear Rex Grossman.  Someone replied that a few of the names on the list were in their first year and needed another year before they be included here.  I agreed.  It's not fair to put essentially rookies on the list.

Well, we're in the 2nd season for these guys and it's time to vote now cause it's never too early.

Most of the haterade comes down for Tavaris Jackson and Vince Young.  Well, take Vince off your list cause Jeff Fisher has officially benched him in favor of Kerry Collins.  Only starters are on this list so no Grossmans either.  Tavaris Jackson really is not that bad when you look at his rating (64.8)

If we just go by QB rating, then the worst QBs in the NFL at this point is surprising!

#3) Derek Anderson of the Browns.  (57.1) How quickly they fall.  Wasn't he on fire last year?

#2) Matt Hasselbeck of Seattle.  (48.6)  This guy was in the Superbowl a few years ago and mentioned with the all-time greats in terms of future.  Is it just an illusion?

#1) Carson Palmer of the Bengals.  (37.1)  Say it ain't so.  Is it not a good year for NFL QBs from USC or what?  Matt Lienart gets benched and replaced by a dinosaur and now this.  Oh, how the mighty have fallen!

Kansas City Chiefs starters are hurt and not so bad via rating.  The starter this week, Thigpen, checks in with a 54.0 rating.  We'll give him another week to be on the official worst list..

OK, Chargers fans, time to hit the panic button.  Even with one of the easiest schedules in the league, your Al Gore twin, Norv Turner, still can't get it done for a home opener.  Granted, the Carolina Panthers are no walkover.  Still, you're at home and you should have gotten the win no matter what.

A lot of prognosticators ( and I mean a lot!) have picked the Chargers to either go to or win the Superbowl this season.  They see something I don't.  What?  Did your head coach suddenly do what?  Realize his waning potential?  Get the clue he didn't get in his other head coaching positions?  Grow a brain, the aptitude, and intangibles capable of actually coaching an NFL team?  I don't think so.

Marty may have not been the guy to win the big game.  That is up for argument.  There is no argument concerning Norv Turner.  The Chargers will go nowhere with him and they were damn lucky to go as far as they did last  year.  What?  You expect lightning to strike twice.  Get real!

If you can't beat a Panthers team that didn't even make the playoffs last year at home, where the hell do you think you're going?  Suddenly, your easy schedule looks like the gauntlet.  When Merriman goes down, and he will, the house of cards will come tumbling down.  God help you if one of your other stars gets hurt.  You expect Norv to coach 'em up?  Get real!!  His hiring will go down as the most boneheaded move of all time.  Given a Ferrari, he has turned the lightning bolts in to a Honda.

Isn't that what Brian Bosworth called the NCAA so many years ago ... a bunch of communists?  Well, never have those words been more meaningful than today.

Calling a penalty against college kids for celebrating is always in bad taste.  Calling a penalty against college kids at the end of the game when it could effect the outcome borders on a crime and a crime was committed against Ty Willingham and the Washhington Huskies in their game against BYU.

What does the NCAA want, a bunch of robots on the field?  A bunch of trembling in their shoes comrades afraid to look big brother in the eye?  One can only hope that this latest debacle involving the Huskies will be the last straw and someone with authority will stand up and say enough!!

One hopes that it is the athletes themselves who bond together and stage some type of protest whether it is sitting out an entire game or refusing to play a quarter in protest of that inane rule that penalizes athletes for being emotional in an emotional event.

The referees involved in that Washington vs BYU game need to be investigated ... it all stinks of something fishy.

Justine Henin and Kim Clysters retire and  the WTA is in chaos.  There seems to be nothing left but a bunch of chokers who operate better off the radar than ranked number one. 

Maria Sharapova gets ranked number one and then she can't win a major and eventually gets injured.  The injury could end her career.  Mauresmo tries to hold on to number one for a few weeks and she now can't even reach a semi-final of a major.  Is she even ranked in the top ten today?

The gorgeous Ana Ivanovic hits number one and then hits the skids.  She can't even get to a quarter-final in a major tourney.

The Williams sisters would be ranked one and two if only they were interested and they interest lay in movies, design, modeling, and just being a celeb.

What happened to the days when Everett or Navratilova held on to the top ranks for years and dominated their opponents.  Ditto for Graf, Seles, and even Hingis.  What a sad state of affairs.  At least the WTA could get Anna Kournikova back in the mix.  She would at least give them something to talk about.

What goes on in New York?   Yankee fans seem to be holding A-Rod responsible for everything ... namely missing the post-season for the first time in so many years.

Sure, A-Rod melts in the clutch like so much ice cream in Central Park on a hot July day.  Sure, he has the personality of a narcisstic ego-driven air-head for opting out of his rich contract earlier in the year just to find out nobody else wanted him for the money except the team he was trying to abandon.  Still, he is the greatest active slugger in the game and eventual home run king.  Isn't that why the Yankees conveted him in the first place?

I was never in favor of the Yankees signing A-Rod or a lot of the other mercenaries they now are saddled with.  Chemistry means a lot in sports and mercenary-type players don't bring good chemistry or Karma.  The Yanks have done diddly since they signed Giambi and the rest of the mercs.

 A-Rod is  the wrong person for New York.  He's the wrong personality to be the highest paid in MLB.  There is a strange cloud over his head and now over the Yankee franchise.  Yanks go nowhere with him.  Get used to it ... you guys are married for 9 more years ... what a marriage made in hell.  Is Hank Steinbrenner the devil?
