    Pac-10 should be Division II

Friday, January 1, 2010, 04:26 PM EST [NCAA BB]

The Pac-10 is having a down year and should move down to Division II to see success. Many teams this year have been embarrassed by small schools and losing out on the east coast.  Cal has been erratic so far this year, with loses to Syracuse and Kansas. Granted those team are good, but Randell and others on the team did not play well.  Shooting wild shots and turning the ball over. I love to see UCLA losing for a change; Ben cannot rely on first round NBA picks to win games for him. He will actually have to coach, not just roll the ball out at practice.

Washington is another team which has had troubles this year.  Having few quality wins under their name.  Playing against Georgetown they looked scared and were dominated in both front and back court. Having to play against quality opponents, the Pac-10 has come up short this year. With the start of Pac-10, we will see who comes out the best of the worst.

    Gonzaga gives limp performance

Monday, March 30, 2009, 09:07 PM EST [NCAA BB]

I am tired of hearing about the fantasy which is Gonzaga basketball.  They are a mediocre team in an underprivileged league, yet the hype never ends. Their fans live in a cloud angel dust being created by Hyfelt's bong. The reality is Gonzaga is a decent mid-major, in a league considered the poor man's Pac-10.

The current Gonzaga Bulldogs are never going to surpass the team which surprised everyone and went to the elite eight. If it wasn't for the WCC, they would have had a tough time making the tournament. There is a big difference between the Pac-10 and the WCC. Having to play UCLA and USC is much different than Santa Clara and Pepperdine.  Maybe a top four or five, but no way would they have any success.

Gonzaga had the easiest way to the sweet 16. First off, Akron was a terrible team and shouldn't have been in the tournament. They didn't make a shot in the last ten minutes. The next team they faced was Western Kentucky, who had no inside presence.  Gonzaga got to play two mid-majors who were not very talented and walked into the sweet 16.

Gonzaga is an average team at best, getting a lucky break into the sweet 16. When having to play real teams like Memphis or UNC, they crumble into the pathetic mid-major they are. They would be fourth of fifth in the Pac-10.  Gonzaga is fortunate to play in the WCC, so they can keep beating talentless teams and never be exposed for the losers they really are.

Magic's top five Lakers a joke! Kobe?

Wednesday, December 31, 2008, 06:26 PM EST [General]

On Christmas Magic interviewed Kobe and gave the top five Lakers of all time. His list was a major diss to one player. This player is  Elgin Baylor and he should have been at the top of his list. The skills Baylor had were nothing like any player has shown past or present.   Baylor's longtime teammate Jerry West told HOOP magazine in 1992. "I hear people talking about forwards today and I haven't seen any that can compare with him." His game was beyond Kobe's and Magic's. Yet, Magic went with Kobe Bryant to top off his list. It was distgusting and an embarressment to Magic for his lack of respecting one of the top five players all-time. Kobe has scored more points than Baylor, however, the whole offense runs through Kobe and he is treated like a school girl by the Lakers organization. Baylor put it on people with a broken knee and no three point line. Show some respect Magic and move Kobe off the list of the top five.

    Baylor's career stats:

G     FG% 3PFG% FT% Rebs RPG Asts  APG   Pts    PPG

    846 .431 .330 .780 11,463 13.5 3,650 4.3 23,149 27.4
