Regardless of the result, Arena's lads have shown character, guts and bottle in the first 45 minutes. The folks back home should be proud of them. Everyone, with the exception of Pope, who looks a yard off the pace has played very well.

The Italians don't look up for it and if this was a fight the US would be way ahead on points.

Oh No...Pablo gets a straight red from the referee, Jorge Larrionda of Uraguay. It was a rascal of a challenge, late and studs up but maybe the red was a little harsh...a yellow for sure. Now we're all even again.
