Just before the 2006 World Cup, FIFA moved offices. Previously they were based in cramped quarters in the center of Zurich - that is no longer the case!

Their new opulent building sits at the top of Zurich in plush surroundings. There are all-weather pitches, beach soccer facilities, a state of the art gym, restaurants, you name it, and they've got it. Unfortunately Sepp Blatter wasn't in residence but one official I did speak to said that South Africa 2010 will present more difficulties than all the other World Cups combined - not very reassuring eh!

All in all it's quite an imposing building and I suppose fitting headquarters for the world's game and if you're ever wondering why your match tickets seemingly cost the earth, wonder no more...
