You may have heard I've been running a high fever but as this is the World Cup nothing slows you down. Last night after the England game, I must admit I felt like death warmed over but could I find a cab, the media bus to whisk me home to a warm bed...not a chance. So I eneded up on the tram like everyone else and it was packed...like sardines but even more so. It was like a South African cab...there's always room for one more!
The temperature from hundreds of sweating males made the carriage feel like a Turkish Sauna and it only got worse when the tram came to a complete halt for 15 minutes. The windows steamed up and everyone starting gettting really aggravated. The sweat was pouring off me but lo and behold, I think it broke my fever. Eventually they just opened the doors and everyone jump over the tracks to the sidewalk. It appears that someone further down the line had had a heart attack, so all the trams were backed up like London buses. I had to hoof it a good 2 miles until some randon guy saw my my FSC mike stick at a crosswalk. He called me over, said that he'd been in the States, loved the channel and would I like a ride back to my hotel...nice one son!
