    Keeping them happy

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 12:39 PM EST [General]

In a case of put up and shut up ... both Jeremy Shockey and Plaxico Burress have found the end zone today for the Giants.

Which is good, because if New York doesn't come through and make the postseason, those two are going to draw more than their fair share of the fans' ire.

    Bengals bungle

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 12:00 PM EST [General]

Note to Bengals: Killing potential scoring drives with turnovers may not cost you against the Raiders (it hasn't so far, despite two such miscues), but it might in the postseason.

So we'd have to recommend cutting that out.

    Panthers claw back into game

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 11:59 AM EST [General]

That's more like it: Steve Smith and Drew Carter both made very nice grabs (on pretty good throws by Chris Weinke, too) to make up for some earlier Carolina wide receiver bobbles and get the Panthers back into the game against the Giants.

    Brady Quinn to Lions?

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 11:55 AM EST [General]

Last year, football fans enjoyed the Reggie Bush sweepstakes (as well as the unofficial "Reggie Bush Bowl" played between the 49ers and Texans in Week 16 of last season).

This year, we could have the Brady Quinn sweepstakes. Who are the frontrunners? Try the Raiders and Lions, both of whom stand at a rancid 2-10 this season. While the Raiders trail 14-0 to the Bengals in Cincy, the Lions are getting smoked at home by the division rival Vikings.

Yes, it's very apparent that Jon Kitna is the not the future at the quarterback position for Detroit. Could Heisman runner-up Brady Quinn be sporting Lion blue and silver next season? If he does, Lions fans better hope he isn't the second coming of Joey Harrington.

Want to banter LIVE with fellow Lions fans and discuss Brady Quinn as an option for 2007? Feel free to go to the Vikings-Lions GameTrax page and feel free to pop open the "GameTrax Pro."

    Pouting paid off

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 11:49 AM EST [General]

Well, apparently all that pouting paid off for Plaxico Burress.

Eli Manning found him twice on the Giants' most recent drive, once for a 45-yard gain, then again for a 28-yard touchdown.
