The Titans took an early lead on the Colts on Sunday thanks to a couple of rookies who shared the national championship stage a year ago.
First, USC's "other" back from last year, LenDale White, carried the ball twice in the scoring drive for 31 yards, showing the power that many felt would be his biggest asset as a pro. Then, to finish off the drive, Vince Young scampered 19 yards into the end zone, looking very much the way he did when he was leading Texas to the title against White's Trojans.
The Titans didn't throw the ball once during their scoring drive. With young legs like these to carry your team, why not use them?
The Titans entered the game averaging 70 rushing yards per game. Keeping the ball on the ground for almost the entire first quarter, they rushed for 100 yards in the game's first 15 minutes.
