    A.J. Hawk

Sunday, October 8, 2006, 01:48 PM EST [General]

The Rams appeared primed to put the Packers away with a touchdown that would have given them a 27-13 lead.

Instead, rookie linebacker A.J. Hawk helped stop Marc Bulger on a crucial third down inside the 5-yard line as the Packers forced a Jeff Wilkins field goal that gave the Rams a 23-13 lead.

Remember, these are the '06 Packers, not the '96 Packers (one of the greatest squads in NFL history), and a 10-point deficit is certainly more manageable than having to score two touchdowns.

The Packers offense needs to get something going if they expect to challenge for the lead. Brett Favre's day has been rather pedestrian, going 12-for-24 for 127 yards.

    Things better than J.P. Losman

Sunday, October 8, 2006, 01:29 PM EST [General]

J.P Losman has been bad today for the Bills. How bad, you ask? Well, he is currently 10-of-20 for 88 yards and three interceptions, as the Bills trail the Bears 30-0 in the third quarter.

Let's think of some things that have been better today than J.P. Losman.

    1. The free donuts brought in by a coworker.

    2. Jimmy Johnson's hair (We haven't seen it yet, but we're basing this on prior appearances).

    3. The FOX commercial starring a busty Jillian Barberie (more photos!).

    4. The rumors of crazy Lou Piniella returning to manage the Yankees.

    5. The fact that when we put the name Dick Jauron into our blog, the coach's first name gets censored out.

    T.O. T.O. T.O.

Can't get enough of Terrell Owens?

Thought so. So, here are some shots of him getting ready for today's game in Philly ...

T.O. listens to music before the game. Think it's the new Snow Patrol CD?

T.O. plays catch. Think it's with his 'ol bud Donovan McNabb?

    Saints appear back on track

Sunday, October 8, 2006, 01:10 PM EST [General]

Without all the fanfare of the Monday nighter two weeks ago, the Saints are playing their second home game of the season and, so far, the Superdome fans are thrilled.

Drew Brees just found tight end Ernie Conwell for a 9-yard touchdown pass, and the Saints have scored 17 unanswered points to take a 17-7 lead over the Buccaneers.

Rookie Tampa QB Bruce Gradkowski, starting in place of now-spleenless Chris Simms, will be asked to lead the winless Bucs back.

    Peppers a real force

Sunday, October 8, 2006, 01:08 PM EST [General]

Julius Peppers has been all over Browns QB Charlie Frye like an anxious prom date at the after party.

While Peppers only has three tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble (which was recovered by the Panthers), he has seemingly been in the Browns' backfield on every play. Frye has been forced a number of times to get rid of the ball well before he wanted to, and it has hindered Cleveland from finding the end zone in Carolina.

We think Peppers should used everywhere by the Panthers, from wide receiver, outside man on the kickoff team, and punter. He's that good.
