    Charging on

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 05:42 PM EST [General]

OK, maybe the Chargers are a dominant team. They just whipped the Broncos 48-20 for their seventh straight win, with LaDainian Tomlinson scoring three more times to break the NFL single-season record for touchdowns (29 and counting).

Even if they're not unbeatable, they're looking like the best team in the league right now. The Colts and Patriots got crushed today. The Bears have a quarterback quandary and the Ravens have offensive issues.

San Diego (and maybe Dallas) have the NFL's most complete teams. Tomlinson is the league's MVP, Philip Rivers is superb and Shawne Merriman leads a killer front seven on defense. Weaknesses? Nothing glaring, though the receiving corps and secondary aren't great.

Is this the Chargers' year? It's certainly starting to look that way.

    Denver not done yet

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 04:42 PM EST [General]

The Broncos have scored 17 straight points to cut San Diego's lead to 28-20. This is why the Chargers can't be considered a dominant team. Yes, they've won six straight games, but the past five have all been decided by eight points or fewer.

    Role reversal

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 04:34 PM EST [General]

n a role usually reserved for the Cardinals, the Seahawks are trying to give a game away. After taking the lead against Arizona, a Mack Strong fumble put the Cardinals to go back in front.

    A little life

Sunday, December 10, 2006, 04:09 PM EST [General]

The Seahawks played the bulk of the first 30 minutes like they didn't want a first round bye. Arizona opened up a double-digit lead on Seattle, before Matt Hasselbeck led a 91-yard drive at the end of the half to cut the deficit to 17-14.

Seattle can clinch its third straight division title with a win and a San Francisco loss.
