Jake Plummer...A Johnny Damon Clone??? And Alexander out

Saturday, January 14, 2006, 04:07 PM EST [General]

Plummer sporting the huge beard and the Mullet. Not sure what this look represents. Maybe he's a NASCAR fan. But how Plummer looks matters none compared to what he must do to lead the Broncos to the Championship game. The Patriots have a bad secondary, so Plummer shouldn't go Retro and throw 3 picks, but if he does, then expect the Pats to keep going. Plummer was extremely under-rated this year, and few realized that had a year that Elway didn't even have. However Plummer back in the Cardinals days as well as in Denver, he's been Mr. Interception. (Or the "King of Picks") I think that Plummer will lead the Broncos to victory today, should be interesting. Shaun Alexander will not return to the game, the plot has thickened. Now the Redskins just have to play offense, which is VERY unlikely

    WAS @ SEA, HALFTIME 3-7:

Saturday, January 14, 2006, 04:00 PM EST [General]

The score is Redskins 3, Seahawks 7. The Seahawks moronic punt returner (Jimmy Williams) muffed a punt which led to the Redskins field goal. However the Seahawks fianally remembered how to play offense on a great pass to Darrell Jackson. (a pass he would have dropped last year). Obviously the crowd and rain are helping the Seahawks. The Redskins can't play offense that bad and expect to win this game. UPDATE COMING AT THE END OF THE GAME....

WAS @ SEA, End of 1st: Defense, Alexander, and Rain

Saturday, January 14, 2006, 03:20 PM EST [General]

Right now the 1st quarter has ended, and it is 0-0. Neither team has managed do to ANYTHING on offense, lots of 3 and outs. The D's have looked good but where's the offense??? Also BIG news, Shaun Alexander took a concussion, and is questionable, along with WR Darrell Jackson, also questionable. These injuries may end the Seahawks quest to win in the playoffs. Right as I finished this the Redskins just recovered a botched punt return by the Seahawks. The Seahawks may be in the process of another playoff choke-job...

    NFL PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS:DIVISONAL ROUND

Saturday, January 14, 2006, 02:51 PM EST [NFL]

It is playoff time and some very good games this week. Here are my "expert" picks for today and tommorow.

REDSKINS at SEAHAWKS. Well everyone is shooing in the Seahawks to win, and it angers me that many people don't think the Redskins can win. However, I am picking the Seahawks. The Redskins have a solid D, but are a little weak in the secondary, and they are facing a good Matt Hasselbeck, and Joe Jurevicius (a Seattle WR who can catch!!!) The Redskins offense is not great, facing a decent Seahawk D. Also it has rained in Seatlle about a month straight (seriously) and the Seahawks haven't lost at home yet (8-0), so I'm pickin the 'Hawks.

PATRIOTS at BRONCOS This is the same as the other game, where everyone is saying the Pats will win even with the Broncos being the better team. I however am smart enough to pick the Broncos to win. The Broncos have a great run stopping D, and Corey Dillon has been suckzilla this year. Which means that Tom Brady will have to throw a lot and the Broncos have the best CB in the league (Champ Bailey) and one of the best Safetys (John Lynch). The Pats secondary is weak vs Jake Plummer and Rod Smith. The Broncos probably won't be able to run either, but the secondarys are very different. The Broncos offense isn't the greatest, but its good enough to win. Most people are saying "Yeah, but the they are still the Patriots". All good things must come to an end, and the Patriots postseason streak is going to end. Not to mention the Broncos are 8-0 at home. Broncos to win.

STEELERS at COLTS Same how everyone is picking the Colts. However I must agree that the Colts will win this game. I think the Colts will be rusty in the 1st quarter, but when the Colts offense wakes up, they will pass all over a Steelers secondary that only has Troy Polamalu. The Colts can probably pass for 4 Touchdowns. The Steelers offense is solid, and same for the Colts Defense. But the Steelers can't score more in a probable shootout vs the Colts. And the Colts are great at home. Colts win.

PANTHERS at BEARS This is the one game that people are basically 50/50 on. Earlier in the week in a poll on ESPN.com, 52% said Bears victory, 48% said Panthers. This game was really tough for me to pick, but I like home-field advantage, so the Bears get the picks. The Bears D at home allows only 7 a game, they only allowed 3 the last time they played the Panthers. Foster is not consistant a RB and will probably be stopped. Panthers QB Delhomme throws all of his passes to Steve Smith, and the Bears will probably double coverage him all game long to shut down the Panthers. I really dislike the Bears offense, I don't think Grossman is that good, but the Bears D should give up a max of 10 points. The D will probably score, meaning the Bears offense needs 1 Touchdown. I think that Muhammad can do that and I pick the Bears. It should be good. Mr. NFL
