Have not had a Mixed Martial Arts post in a while, or a boxing post ever, but with a big weekend coming up for both sports.
I think the Ultimate Fighter finale this weekend will be an excellent watch, and I want to personally thank Spike TV for putting them on free tv. I am glad to see that Tommy Speer made it to the final, but I would prefer anyone over Mac Danzig.
He is just a guy who takes life just a little to seriously. Like when someone pulled a prank on Team Hughes, and he had to be restrained before someone even told him what happened, for fear he would go balistic. Just laugh it off, and do something to someone in return, don't threaten to beat somone up for saying "You, me and space". You gotta be above that, when you know you could be the snot oout of a guy like Richie Hightower, just rise above and go with the flow.
Another thing don't be pissed when people sk to sample your food. That is like a 5 year-old not wanting to share his toys. He wanted to try it and that was it, not eat all your food. RELAX!!!! If you take life to seriously, Captain Miserable, your buttons to upset you become huge, and very sensitive. Relax and enjoy the ride.
I hope Speers puts the wood to him in the fight, but I think Danzig is to technical, and technique beats strength every time.
Now to Pretty Boy Floyd and Ricky Hatton. This is another one of those things where a guys has all the talent in the world, but choses to talk over it all. I don't deny that Floyd is a good fighter, but the way he carrys himself is just not my particular brand of personality. Hatton is a guy I know very little about but I will be happy to see him clean Mayweather's clock this weekend, but it pro bably won't happen because Mayweather is just to good.
This is one of the best weekends in fighting, and hopefully it lives up to the hype, unlike De la Hoya v Mayweather in May.

The Ravens have absolutely nothing to cry about, You lost the game, the officials did not "job" you guys, you folded like a house of cards.
Finally somebody got burned with this timout tag thing that everyone is doing, Thank you Mike Shanahan, burned you guys when you stopped Tom Brady on 4th down. Even your coach said that you were in the wrong scheme, even though you stopped the guy. Don't cry about that, and I know you aren't.
Next the penalty calling. Every single penalty call against your team, was legit. Ben Watson was held and that could have been the winning touchdown. Every single call against you guys was legit, and you're looking for a convenient excuse to explain why you lost your "Super Bowl".
What about Derrick Mason grabbing all of Asante Samuels jersey when Mark Clayton caught the ball on the New England 2 yard line, I thought they were against the Patriots, looked like they helped you guys on that play, to almost pull off the upset of the century.
Then what about Bart Scott, doing his best impression of Eric Bedard, throwing the officials flag like it was a 90 mph fastball. You can't let emotion get the best of you, and pull a bonehead move like that, and expect not to get a flag.
Losing creates bitterness, and then you look for excuses, Like McGahee saying the calls were "bogus", just a bitter guy. Saying that you were battling two teams, the Pats and the Zebras, another excuse from a losing team.
Quit your whining and take your loss like professionals and go to work next week.
Well, the college football season is done and now it is time to take a look back at some of the best and worsts of the season,
My Picks: All of my picks for conference winners were correct except for the Big 10, but who knoew that Ohio State would be good after loosing half of thier offense. I picked Michigan, but looked like an idiot after the loss App. State. My National title game was only half correct as well, with LSU making it into the game, and USC missing it. Pretty good year.
Worst Loss: App. State beats Michigan. App. State may be a good Division 2 team, but they are still a Division 2 team. Michingan is a Division 1 powerhouse, or so we thought until that game. USC'a loss to Stanford was shocking, but Stanford is in the same conference as SC. Not that big of a loss, it only hurt thier National Title hopes.
Best Win: Illinois over Ohio State. This win shows you how good the Illini can be when during the 4th quarter, Ohio state only ran three offensive plays. Look the hell out for Illinois in the next few years.
Best Bowl: Oklahoma vs West Virginia. Talk about your classic matchup. A team that throws it like nobody's business and a team that looks like they are in a track meet every time they play. This will be fun to watch, and I am thankful I have tickets to the game.
Heisman Trophy: Chase Daniels, QB Mizzou. Simple, would Mizzou have been in the hunt for the National Title without this guy? The short answer is no. I know people are saying Tim Tebow, but Florida without him is still pretty good. I know he set records with rushing and throwing for more than 20 TD's in one season, but Florida without Tebow, is still a pretty good team.
Also Darren McFadden had an amazing season and will likely be the number one pick in the NFL draft. But his team didn't win as many games as Daniels did, to win the heisman, you gotta be on a winning team. Daniels is the Heisman winner because he was able to make Mizzou, a non-traditional football school, a viable force this.
