All of these thoguhts came into my head over the past week and each thought warrented a post of their own, but there is a problem, no one long enough for a post. So I decided to mash them all together into one major post.
- I am looking forward to this weekend in college football. The Red River Shootout, Florida vs LSU, and Notre Dame playing against an underachieveing UCLA team. Hoping for an excellent weekend with a ton of good games.
- With hockey beginning this weekend I have a few thoughts on what the NHL could do to once again become relevent. Every team should have a dance team or a cheerleading squad filled with scantily clad women. That is one way to get that demographic of males aged 18-35 that everyone is looking to get after.
- Another thing is to not expand, but relocate to of the teams that are struggleing in getting people into their building like Carolina and Phoenix, to markets that might care about hockey, because they know what ice is. A place like North Dakota and Hartford, Connecticut where they had a team that was rudely taken away from them in favour of new money. The NHL needs to take marketing lessons
- Soccer gets no respect in this country mainly because of clips like this. Use this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h213GJo76sQ. This is why I do not like soccer.
- The NFL is going as strong as ever, and most of it is becasue Roger Goddell has tried to get rid of all the felons and dog fighters in the league and i applaud him for taking actions to protect his players. Unlike another commissioner in the NHL is reluctant to punish anyone who is a key figure in the league like Pronger in the Cup final last year, versus the Downie incident in the pre-season. The NHL is the only one that has different penalties for different level of stars and different penalties at different times of the year. Keep it universal then we won't have anyone second guessing your decisions commissioner.
Just a couple of thoughts
