What A Week! It's Fantasy Survivor In 2007

Friday, December 21, 2007, 12:57 PM EST [NFL, Week 15, Willie Parker, T]

The games of Week 15 provided us with a number of fantastic, and oftentimes, head-scratching, results.

Owners who had ridden quarterback superheroes Tom Brady, Tony Romo and Derek Anderson into the playoffs received no support in Week 15. Brian Westbrook took the advice of Jon Runyan and eschewed the additional six points in order to secure a Philadelphia win. Romo's choice of guests has been roundly criticized this week, and the once mighty Dallas juggernaut has been slowed in the past two games. Of course, it should be noted that his biggest critic for this week's performance, Terrell Owens, was targeted 12 times and experienced his own struggles with drops. Owens has never been known to cause distraction, right?

In all seriousness, Romo's thumb injury is certainly something to watch, and it's clear that the Cowboys are somewhat out of sync. But blaming Jessica Simpson? What about the change at center?

In the end, the brilliance of David Garrard and Ben Roethlisberger and ageless wonders Brett Favre and Kurt Warner guided more than a few teams to the fantasy championship round along with unheralded backs Ryan Grant, Justin Fargas and Earnest Graham.

The 2007 season has seen its share of twists and turns, and the mountain of injuries sustained at the skill positions have made for some interesting results. Here's hoping that you've been able to survive the trials and tribulations of another fabulous fantasy season.

I'll be back on Monday to recap the good, bad and ugly of championship week.
