ACC Is A Better Football Conference Than The SEC

Friday, December 2, 2005, 05:35 PM EST [NCAA FB]

The SEC is a great football conference, but it just is not as good as the ACC. I think that was completely evident during the course of this year's football season. I will do a rundown of the matchups between the teams in their respective divisions in order of their records thus far. Okay here it goes....

VT vs. LSU: VT has the edge here. LSU lost to Tennessee, and Tennessee lost to Vandy, enough said.

Miami vs. Georgia: Despite losing to Georgia Tech, Miami is a great football program. Georgia could not compete with Miami's defense nor offense. Edge goes to Miami.

FSU vs. Alabama: Alabama definetily has the edge in this one. FSU lost it's last three games, and one was to Cemson, and they also lost to UVA earlier in the year

GT vs. Auburn: Did you watch the first game of the year? Edge goes to the Yellow Jackets.

BC vs. SC: This one would probably have to go to South Carolina. It would be close though. Boston College just hasn't proved to be a consistently good team, even though at times they look great.

Clemson vs. Florida: Despite both of them beating Florida State, this one wouldn't even be close. Florida by a landslide.

NC State vs. Vandy: NC State is one of the most underrated teams in NCAA football. They are not a consistent team, but have a smothering defense, but what does Vandy care, they beat the Vols for the first time in ages. Edge goes to NC State.

Maryland vs. Tennessee: Tennessee is plain and simply the most OVERRATED NCAA football team in history. They are the biggest joke in NCAA football, and do not even deserve to be in the SEC. They are no longer contenders, they are PRETENDERS. They are living off of past glory of Peyton Manning.

UNC vs. Kentucky: This one would be fun to watch. In the UNC vs. VT game, UNC gave VT all they wanted in the first half. If they can ever consistently put two halves like that together, they will be lethal. Edge goes to UNC.

UVA vs. Arkansas: UVA had a dissapointing season. Arkansas is always bad. Edge goes to UVA.

Wake Forest vs. Miss State: Barclay would have fun in this one. Edge goes to Wake Forest.

Duke vs. Ole Miss: Duke is just plain bad. Edge goes to Ole Miss.

Okay if you are keeping score, the ACC won 8-4. Now I know these are just hypothetical match ups and they can be rearranged in any order, but the ACC would always prevail. They are just simply the better conference. Get over it SEC.

    Super Bowl Prediction

Friday, December 2, 2005, 01:06 PM EST [Carolina Panthers]

There is going to be a showdown in Detroit that's for sure. The Carolina Panthers and the Indianapolis Colts are going to be the two teams in the Super Bowl. This year kind of reminds me of 2003. The Patriots were no doubt the favorites to win the whole year and throughout the playoffs, but when the Panthers did anything, they were just lucky, then they gave New England the fight of their life in the Super Bowl. It is the Same situation this year, only with Indy taking New England's place. Carolina is going to win Home Field advantage, and cruise into Detroit. A lot of people think that Seattle may be the NFC's representative, but Seattle is a very overrated team. They are a DECENT team feasting on a WEAK schedule. We will all notice this when the Colts beat the Seahawks in Seattle by a margin of at least twenty points. The Super Bowl will be a shootout...Peyton Manning to his recievers, which Carolina will not be able to cover, and Jake Delhomme to Steve Smith, which Indy will not be able to cover. My prediction for the final score is Colts: 45 Carolina: 35. Carolina just doesn't have the fire power to keep up with the Colt's offense.

    Why Not Start Gordon

Friday, December 2, 2005, 12:53 PM EST [Ben Gordon]

The future is looking good for the Chicago Bulls. Kirk Hinrich is a proven leader, and Ben Gordon and Loul Deng are going to be superstars. What I do not understand is why Scott Skiles insists on starting Chris Duhon over Ben Gordon. Chris Duhon is a good basketball player, don't get me wrong, he just can not be a game breaker like Gordon can. Ben Gordon should at least be averaging 35 minutes a game, and if he were his points per game average would be over 20. Ben Gordon does have defense issues, and is inconsistent with his shooting, but I think he has far more talent than Chris Duhon does. The Bulls will have ten more wins at the end of the year they start Gordon then they would with Duhon starting. So give Ben Gordon a chance.

2005 Indianapolis Colts: Best NFL Team Ever?

Thursday, December 1, 2005, 11:08 PM EST [Indianapolis Colts]

The 2005 Indianapolis Colts are certainly a great football team. Are they the best NFL team ever. The answer is YES. There has NEVER been a better offense in the NFL than this Colts team has. Peyton Manning is on his way to being arguably one of the best quarterbacks ever, and the Colts are going to finish the 2005 NFL season 16-0. The biggest test for Indy will come when they play the Jaguars. The Jags seem to always give them fits and the game will be in Florida not in the dome where the Colts excel. They will also have to get through the Seahawks in Seattle, however I think that Seattle has been a decent team taking advantage of a mediocre schedule, and the Colts Vs. Seahawks game will not even be close. The Colts will clinch home field in the playoffs, and that is why they will win the Super Bowl. There is no team that can beat them in a dome, and there probably isn't a team that can beat them anywhere else. Mark it down, Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts are going to make history in 2005.

    Vick Vs. Vick

Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:58 PM EST [Marcus Vick]

There has been much discussion over who is the better QB between the Vick brothers. Well, I have seen every one of each of their college games, and I honestly believe that Marcus Vick is better than Michael was at this stage. Marcus is no doubt the better passer right now. He has a very high completion percentage and he shows a lot more touch on his throws when he needs to. Michael can probably throw a deeper ball than Marcus can, but Marcus is more accurate. Marcus is also faster than Michael is. I just hope that when Marcus Vick is drafted he is drafted by a team other than the Falcons in the NFC south so we can see the two of them go against eachother twice a year.
