Little noticed in the midst of today's election gloating or teeth-gnashing was the news that a proposed soccer field project tied to a new stadium for the K.C. Wizards had been shot down, and hard. What this means for the Wizards is anyone's guess, but after spending a lot of money to back the intiative, the new owners of the Wizards are going to have to come up with some other way to build a stadium in Kansas City. Or, they could just do the sensible thing, and move the team, as MLS execs had been quietly urging Lamar Hunt to do since Year Two.
