The always-classy Brian McBride retired today from the international game. A 13-year vet of the national team and a member of three World Cup squads, he netted 30 goals in 95 games, good enough for second all-time.(Eric Wynalda remains atop the heap with 34.) McBride is the only American to score in two World Cups, though he was blanked in Germany this summer.
McBride, 35, remains at Fulham in England, where he has been a starter for much of the past two seasons.
