A smattering of your comments: These, by the way, are the cleanest ones we've been sent. Others we've received (thanks, we think) include references to one broadcaster's "verbal diarrhea;" others wonder if a certain anchor has, uh, well... size issues, let's say. We hasten to remind all of you that as we are IN Germany, we can't actually see the ABC/ESPN feeds, but judging by the hundreds of emails we're getting, you're not real pleased.
"Harkes, who looks hungover or sick, can't shut up."
"I could not agree more about the lousy coverage by ESPN. My biggest beef is about the fact that never show the opening ceremony which includes the national anthems of both teams as Univision does before every game. Is this simply chauvinism or what is behind this?" [No, actually it's a time thing; ESPN doesn't want to waste time on anthems... which, oddly enough now that you've got us thinking about it, the net doesn't seem to mind during the World Series.]
"I wish the ABC guys would stop talking so much. Perhaps I am spoiled by the FSC telecasts. Yap, Yap, Yap, it is hard to watch the game like this. Really, they are not calling an NFL game."
"Just turn the volume down and listen to music." [One other reader recommends the ouvre of Matisyahu as being appropriate. We'll take his word for it.]
