As we told you last June, the USA and Australia are backups for the increasingly under-pressure 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Sepp Blatter admitted this publicly for the first time Sunday to the BBC, in a program that will be broadcast tonight.
Back in September, we had suggested that Blatter would hold off admitting this until this May, but as he is under no re-election pressure - and thus does not need the African bloc's support to retain his FIFA presidency- he spilled the beans a few days early.
Again, as we've told you all along: Stay tuned. This story is not over.
