PRIDE'S Yakuza Scandal

[Pride]
If you've been following the recent drama surrounding MMA's biggest promotion company and FOX Sports very own Pride Fighting Championships then you probably have seen this comming a mile away....
FUJI Television, one of Japan's largest networks, dropped Pride from it's programming citing that there was a breach of contract between both parties. The people over at Fightopinion.com believe that the termination of the contract between Pride and FUJI TV was due to Pride's alleged Yakuza connections.
What? Pride and The Yakuza? According to Fightopinion.com and a Japanese magazine called Shukan Gendai, Pride has been run and owned by the Yakuza for some time now. What is amazing to me is how little this has been talked about within the MMA community. I mean come on, this is PRIDE we are talking about people! How would you feel if the NFL or the NBA was actually run by the Gambinos?
You have to wonder if Fox Sports will follow FUJI TV and end their relationship Pride as well. Or will the lack of coverage about Pride and their links to oranized crime stateside allow Fox Sports and Pride to fly under the radar with the American viewing public?
Regardless what happens stateside, this is a major blow for the Pride organization which recently lost MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba to K-1. And I guess we wait and see if they get a new TV deal somewhere else or could we be witnessing the final days of Pride?
