I have managed to secure a secret internal memo issued by the Tennesse Titans regarding the Steve McNair situation, and feel in the interest of full disclosure, that it should be released to the general public. Below is the secret memo....

Be advised:

It has come to management's attention that Steve McNair has recently been attempting to enter the team's workout facility in an attempt to prepare for the upcoming season. This is unacceptable.

Somehow, without the knowledge or consent of anyone in the Tennessee Titans organization, Mr. McNair managed to sign himself to a contract with the team that will pay him $9 million next year and count $23 million against the NFL's salary cap. We don't know how he managed to pull it off and make fools of us in this way, but it is clearly not in the best interest of the Titans to have further contact with this man.

It will be far more beneficial to keep Mr. McNair off the premises. This will ensure he will not be able to take advantage of those of us on the upper management team again.

We realize this is a touchy and distasteful subject. Until his contract shenanigans Mr. McNair was a model employee and a credit to this organization. Therefore, we would like to emphasize that you are to do your best to avoid having to get security involved if at all possible if you see this man. Also, avoid any confrontations that might be captured by a television camera.

We ask for the cooperation of all employees in protecting the good name of the Tennessee Titans from this man. He is clearly very devious, so please maintain a state of vigilant awareness. Thank you for your support, and as always, Go Titans!
