    More from Mark Kerr

Thursday, October 26, 2006, 08:08 PM EST [Mark Kerr]

Some extras from my interview with Mark Kerr featured in the new Weekly Tapout:

On his two-year old son, Bryce:

Bryce is great, man. He's a little athlete. You can tell, he's a real boy. He'll get up on a table and if the couch is five feet away, he'll test himself and try to jump it. If he wants to wrestle or if he wants to be a fighter, hey, that's great, when you're a dad of course you want your kid to excel. But he can do whatever he wants, man. I'm not going to push him. If he wants to shine shoes, that's his decision."

When asked why so many veteran fighters who have seen it all seem enthusiastic about the IFL:

"I'll tell ya what, here's the deal. When you've been around the sport as long as I have, you can get cynical. At first with the IFL, I think the guys figured it would be a quick payday, then they'd cut back on the money. But then they saw the guys who run the IFL actually follow up on everything they say they'll do, and they don't make a big deal out of doing the right thing, either. I can tell you right now, if I go to Gareb (shamus, the IFL's founder) and ask for x, y, and z, and he tells me he can do two of those things, for one, he's up front with you about the thing he can't do, and for another, he goes right out and does those other two things. They do what they say they'll do."
