    Big play on first play

Sunday, February 4, 2007, 04:56 PM EST [General]

Question for Moose: "Do you think that the Colts are settling down after the initial kickoff return for a touchdown? How does a team recover from such a sudden big play?"

Remember the BCS game. Ohio State ran back the opening kickoff and then got crushed.

    Blitzing Manning

Sunday, February 4, 2007, 04:46 PM EST [General]

Question for Moose: "Moose, I think that you and Troy Aikmen are the best two color men in the business. Coming from a lifelong Eagles fan that is high praise indeed. Question: Do you think that the Bears should blitz Manning relentlessly? I DO mean a lot. After all, last year the Steelers did the same thing, and, from what I saw, he became totally rattled. GO NFC!!" -- C.Q.,  San Antonio, Texas

The Steelers run a 3-4 defense, the Bears run a 4-3. The 3-4 allows you to run a zone blitz scheme. The Colts were more confused than beat man to man. The Bears need to blitz because I haven't seen much yet.

    On Tank Johnson

Sunday, February 4, 2007, 04:42 PM EST [General]

Question for Moose: "How do you justify the NFL and the Bears letting Tank Johnson play in the Super Bowl? I would think both organizations would suffer from the poor reputation that they might get from letting him play!!" -- David H., Fredericksburg, Va.

This is something that Commissioner Roger Goodell is going to address for the future. Tank is allowed to play because it is work related, out of state. The Bears could not be involved in the process because it is an NFL decision, not a team decision.

    Time off

Sunday, February 4, 2007, 04:39 PM EST [General]

Question for Moose: "As both teams hit the field on Sunday it will be 2 weeks betweens games. Who has the advantage here or does anyone? Is the defense ahead of the offense early? Does the special teams suffer?" -- Brian J., Largo, Fla.

Time off shouldn't create an advantage for either team. Both teams will stay with their basic concepts and sprinkle in a few plays to take advantage of their opponent. The return of the TD is not a result of time off. It's poor lane integrity by the Colts cover team.

    Pregame jitters

Sunday, February 4, 2007, 04:25 PM EST [General]

My biggest concern going into the game was tripping as I was introduced.
