A few folks have solicited my opinions on the thirteen finalists and my three replacements. Thus, I took the time to read some of their stuff and offer my critique. Here are my thoughts on the first 8 as shown on the Fox site. Understand that when I evaluate a writer, I weigh technical skills highly. Technical skills often determine how well a writer delivers and the readers receive his/her message. I also value creativity highly, as well as the writers demonstarted passion for his her work. That said:

Solid informatics, thorough presentation. Phrases like "Many skeptics remain" though are the stuff of which 10th grade term papers are made. Throws in a lot of unnecessary filler. Safe choice.
Dr.Midnight
His stuff just has me asking, "haven't I read this before". He's reasonably polished but windy and cliche. Uses a ton of jargon, seems like he's trying to jock the late, great Ralph Wiley. Sure fills up the pages though. Could do a lot more with a lot less.

Decent mechanics. Turns a good phrase every so often. Relies on clich
