The "truth" hurts? yes he does.

Saturday, February 10, 2007, 03:25 PM EST [NBA]

After nearly 2 months Celtics swing man Paul Pierce returned to the the parquet floor of The TD Banknorth Garden friday night. Pierce looked rusty coming back from a foot injury that has kept him out of the lineup since Dec. 20. The "Truth" had 9pts on 4-16 shooting including one 3pts. He grabbed 4 rbd. 1ast. and 1stl. in yet another pathetic loss that puts there current losing streak at 17, thats right 17 games. I would think that if a professional basketball team played 17 games that they would win at least 1 game even by accident.  This losing skid is in no danger of ending until Pierce gets back into near "game" shape.

Here's the problem, do fans really want to see a healthy Paul Pierce at this juncture?  I ,for one say no way. Any remote chance of making the playoffs ended when Pierce was injured. The Celtics are a horrible basketball team right now and because of bad management in the past are not able to sign an impact veteren player (Pao Gasol, Kevin Garnett) . the only way this team gets better any time soon is to win the draft lottery and come out of it with Oden or Durant. After that it doesn't look like there are any players who will make an imediate impact. The sad fact is the only chance the Celtics have to improve. is to take the gaspipe for the rest of the season. With a healthy Paul Pierce there is no way that happens. He's too good of a player ,they are going to win some games,it may not be many ,but it will be enough.

On behalf of Celtic nation I beseech you Paul Pierce sit the rest of this dance out. I know you have to much pride to not give 100% on the court .All I'm saying is DON'T GET ON IT!  I don't  care how you do it . Maybe you can come down with mono. Perhaps you could ask   your old friends Pervis Ellison or Vin Baker for advice Those two never had any trouble coming up with creative ways to miss half a season. Whatever you do make it quick . The future of the Celtics depends upon it .
