    Roddy White Wasn't Looking...

Sunday, December 24, 2006, 02:40 PM EST [Roddy White]

to make a play when he didn't turn his head to look for the ball on the final play of today's Atlanta Falcon's game against the Carolina Panthers which was just perfect because the Altanta Falcons didn't appear to be looking for a win either.  Michael Vick threw a Hail Mary at the end of the game that was intercepted by the Panthers who won the NFC South matchup 10 to 3.

Wayne Gandy wasn't looking to win when he gave up on blocking Shaun Williams on a fourth and four play late in the game allowing the Carolina defender to leap up and tip a Mike Vick pass causing it to fall harmlessly to the ground.  Michael Vick wasn't looking to win when he held onto the ball too long instead of throwing it away, thus taking a sack on the Falcon's first fourth quarter possession or when he air mailed a pass out of bounds on the play immediately before Gandy's lackluster performance on the Falcon's last real possession.  Michael Jenkins wasn't looking for a win when he committed a clipping penaly in the fourth quarter that nullified an Allen Rossum potentially game winning touchdown on an 80 yard punt return.  Demorrio Williams wasn't looking for a win when he roughed the punter in the fourth quarter giving the ball back to the Carolina Panthers who controlled the ball for a team record 41 minutes and 47 seconds.  Jim Mora must not have been looking to save his job when he failed to prepare his offense to score more than 3 points against the Carolina Panthers whose defense is much less than stellar.

Now Atlanta needs a lot of help if it is to limp into the playoffs.  Perhaps it is worse than that even.  Maybe Atlanta just needs a lot of help.
